La donación es parte de la campaña Goya gives, iniciada en el 2011 en honor al 75 aniversario de Goya
Goya Foods announced the support of ten concerts of Marc Anthonys national tour Cambio de piel, which will donate up to 50,000 pounds of food matching every dollar donated by fans with a pound of food to Maestro Cares, a non-profit organization founded by Marc Anthony and Henry Cardenas to support housing projects and educational needs of poor and orphaned children in developing Latin American countries. The grant will provide more than 5,000 meals to more than 200 children from Orphanage Niños de Cristo in La Romana, Dominican Republic. This orphanage was the first built by the Maestro Cares Foundation in 2014. From September, 4th to October, 11th, fans can donate directly to the Fundación Maestro Cares and share the message through social networks using #GoyaGives. “It’s a tradition of Goya to incorporate donated food to a local or national charity for every concert tour in which we have participated,” Rafael Toro, director of public relations for Goya Foods, said. “It’s the way we support our community based on our commitment to always help those in need, in the USA or abroad.” The donation is part of the Goya gives campaign, which began in 2011 in honor of the 75th anniversary of Goya, which serves to encourage others to participate in the message to help the needy. Goya has donated more than four million pounds of food worldwide since the beginning of the Goya gives campaign.
